Well actually Hime-gyaru and Lolita have no connection at all. While it is true that many Hime-gals will like lolita and vice-versa, a lot of gals greatly dislike lolita and again, vice-versa.
You wouldn't be able to wear a lolita dress and call it hime-gyaru. Just as you couldn't wear a dress from say, Jesus Diamante, and call it lolita. While both fashions have the same aspects (ie. lace, bows, frills, flowers, pearls, etc.) there are no rules to say that those aspects are strictly for a "lolita" audience to wear. In fact a lot of casual clothing in Japan will have these aspects too, so it's more of a cultural thing, as most girls in Japan like things that are cute and girly whereas in western culture a lot of girls prefer to look "sexy" or the clothes are just sort of plain and boring.
Excuse me if I've prattled on too long or if my sentences don't make and sense. ^-^;;
I see I was not necessarily saying they had any connection, just taking a wild guess based on the phrase
ok I have checked out Jesus Diamante; it all looks like stuff First Lady's and British royalty wear to me lol
guess I'll stick to lolita fashion, gothic lolita is kind of old to me but I dunno what other terms you fashion gurus have come up with, lolita is an umrella term to me

I'm late to reply to comments. Yeah i know they have no connection. I meant it more in the fact that the "elegant" idea is still there. I didn't mean that Hime gyaru was lolita because its not. I agree that there are many differences.
And dont worry it made a lot of sense,i just worded my stament weird so i see how it looked like thats what i said but its not what i meant.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
